In a world where monetary interests are routinely prioritised over human ones, it was only a matter of time before politicians tried to re-open businesses in the middle of a deadly pandemic. Among them is Las Vegas mayor Carolyn Goodman, who made headlines by pushing to immediately reopen casinos despite the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
"Mayor Goodman has a lot of thoughts, and the one thing those thoughts have in common is that none of them make any sense," said late show host Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday.
Speaking to Anderson Cooper in a frankly baffling CNN interview, Goodman stood strong in her dangerous resolve to completely ignore expert medical advice.
