Late Wednesday, Pornhub announced on their blog that PayPal will no longer support payouts. According to the site, this will impact thousands of sex workers.
"We are all devastated by PayPal's decision to stop payouts to over a hundred thousand performers who rely on them for their livelihoods," the post read.
Banks and payment platforms have long disallowed payments to and from sex workers, but since the passing of the controversial FOSTA-SESTA (Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act and the Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act), platforms such as PayPal and also general social media sites seem to be turning more hostile towards porn creators.
