With three new iPhones on the way, Apple is reportedly in a 'naming conundrum'

The end of August is nigh, which means we're getting closer to the mother of all tech reveals: the September Apple product unveilings.

More details have emerged about what's up Apple's sleeve this time around, per a new report from Bloomberg. The information comes via "people familiar with the matter."

Bloomberg's report confirms a lot of what we already anticipated, largely thanks to government filings and information from prodigious Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. That is, there will be three new models: an upgraded iPhone X, an iPhone X with a bigger 6.5 inch screen, and a cheaper version of the X. That more affordable model will have an LCD screen and aluminum edges, instead of the X's stainless steel casing and OLED screen. Read more...

Sacha Baron Cohen's 'Who Is America' skips much-hyped Sarah Palin interview

Sacha Baron Cohen's jarring Who Is America concluded Sunday without airing a much talked-about interview with former Alaska governor and Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin. It did, however, include a special thanks for Palin as "Special Publicity Consultant (Inadvertent.)"

Palin spoke out about her interview when Cohen's show premiered and it became clear that his undercover interactions with politicians during production were intended to embarrass them.

"Yup – we were duped," she wrote in a Facebook post before challenging Cohen to air the footage anyway.

'Donut County' turns trash collecting and gaslighting into a perfect punchline

"What is a donut without a hole?"

That's Roma, the larger of the two talking donkeys (I'm pretty sure they're donkeys) that make up Donut County's premiere power couple.

"Wow, good question," BK, a talking raccoon and the proprietor of the local donut eatery, replied. "We should really stop to ponder this for as long as possible."

The raccoon is deflecting. No one realizes it except Mira, his human and employee and sort-of-friend.

Holy calamari: Giant squid washes up on New Zealand beach

Lots of weird things wash up on beachesSea potatoes A very old message in a bottle Unidentifiable sea creatures.

But by golly, this is one huge squid.

The 4.5 metre (14 foot, 9 inch) long cephalopod washed up on the south coast of Wellington, New Zealand on Sunday morning, its size easily eclipsing the mere mortals that dare to lie beside it.

Brothers Daniel, Jack, and Matthew Aplin told Newstalk ZB that they were looking for a place to dive when they spotted the creature.

"My brother said 'what's that over there?' and pointed it out," Daniel told the radio station. "It was right next to the track so we pulled over and we were like: 'It's a big squid'." Read more...

How an anti-Semitic slur made its way onto maps across the internet

Snapchat users were greeted with an alarming change to Snap Maps this morning: New York City had been renamed “Jewtropolis.”

Even worse, social media was filled reports of maps on other websites and services with the same change, including Zillow, The Weather Channel, Citibike, and Streeteasy.

Though the Canadian-Somali singer and poet lives and works in New York, he's a Canadian citizen and his family still resides in Toronto, which means he's facing challenges as a result of the Trump administration's travel ban.

So he released a powerful video plea in partnership with The Love Vote, a nonprofit organization that aims to give the 50 million people like K'naan — who are unable to vote in the U.S. due to circumstances like age, citizenship status, or disenfranchisement — a space for their voices to be heard. If you've been waiting for a gold iPhone, you'll probably love the next Apple event

Only a few hours after Apple sent out this year's iPhone event invitations, purportedly leaked images of the new devices have surfaced online.

This afternoon, Apple news site 9to5Mac posted a photo of what is allegedly one of the new flagship iPhone models laying on top of one another.

If the leaked photos are to be believed, Apple fans can rejoice, because it appears that a bigger iPhone X is on its way — oh, and there could be a gold color option coming as well.

The Cupertino, Calif.-based tech company just sent out invites for a September 12 event with the tagline "Gather Around." The invite didn't offer much information about what to expect, but an outline of Apple Park appeared in what was a gold-copper color — which could be perceived as a hint about the upcoming gold iPhone color option. People are threatening to boycott In-N-Out after large donation to Republican party

Despite its California roots, In-N-Out is far from liberal.

On Wednesday, journalist Gabe Schneider uncovered a contribution of $25,000 that the famous California-based fast food chain made to the California Republican Party just this week — and it's safe to say that some folks were not happy to learn about the political leanings of their family owned go-to burger joint.

After nine seasons on Showtime's acclaimed Shameless, star Emmy Rossum is walking away.

In a Facebook post made earlier this afternoon, Rossum announced her exit, bid adieu to her South Side Chicago family, reflected on her upbringing, talked about Malcolm Gladwell, and even alluded to a possible return...

However, she did not give a reason for the departure.

Video of a seal playing with a butterfly is the purest thing on the internet

Kaya, a harbor seal at the Oregon Zoo, became transfixed by a butterfly flying near her enclosure — and it is the most perfect thing I have ever seen.

Senior Keeper Micah Reese captured the moment while cleaning her enclosure, and shared the footage on Facebook last week.

"Here’s something special that made my heart smile today," Reese wrote in his caption. "I walked down to viewing before our next dive to check out our work after cleaning [the] seal exhibit this morning, and I found Kaya playing with her new friend."
